I’ve had my Silhouette Cameo 4 for over eight months now and I still love it! I mostly use it to cut fabric, heavy card-stock, vinyl, stencils and labels. My jam is DIY home decor projects and crafts for the home. I’ve put together over 20 inexpensive projects and creative ideas (beyond paper crafts and t-shirts) you can make with your Silhouette Cameo.

I’ve provided links to each project below, which include full tutorials. Both the link and the picture will take you to the project. If you would like any of the free cut files, just subscribe at the top sidebar or bottom of this post and you will be sent a link with the password to access my free library of over 60 cut files, labels, printables and templates.
I’m going to start with fabric projects, because they are unique to the Silhouette Cameo 4.
The Cameo 4 cuts through burlap and drop cloth (bleached) beautifully for this No-Sew Fringe Heart Pillow.
It also handled felt wonderfully. See how I made these No-Sew Felt Ornaments for Christmas.
THIN CHIPBOARD & HEAVY CARD-STOCK PROJECTS
You can cut through cereal box material very quickly and layer it. See how I made these adorable Paper Bird Houses.
It also cut through regular card-stock quickly for these Simple Winter Village Houses.
Make library labels and holders with card-stock, like the ones on these beautiful DIY Indoor Herb Containers.
VINYL LABELS & WATERSLIDE DECAL PAPER PROJECTS
I organized my pantry with these Editable Kitchen Pantry Labels.
Create Custom Coffee Cups with water-slide decal transfer paper.
Then label your Soap Tray and Dispensers with vinyl labels.
USE HEAT TRANSFER VINYL AND PAPER TO CUSTOMIZE AND LABEL YOUR HOME DECOR
I’ve created so many DIY home decor projects with heat transfer vinyl. It’s one of my favorite ways to decorate pillows, coasters, storage totes, fabric book covers, tea towels and wall hangings.
I’ll start with these Decorative Fall Pillows. Isn’t the gold HTV gorgeous on these?
Use heat transfer vinyl on cork, like this beautiful Mandala cork board in my home office. You can snag this free Mandala file from my library by subscribing at the bottom of this post.
Customize cork coasters by adding heat transfer vinyl for a designer look.
Label your Fabric Book Covers.
Decorate your kitchen tea towels with it.
PERSONALIZE YOUR HOME DECOR WITH VINYL AND ADD BEAUTIFUL ACCENTS
Vinyl is another one of my absolute favorite items to decorate my home with. You can add decals to your walls, create gorgeous signs, decorate candle votive holders and other home accent pieces.
I created these beautiful Winter Votive Holders from up-cycled Oui yogurt jars and vinyl snowflakes.
Customize personal items like this DIY Pet Feeding Station.
Add a custom decal to the center of a wreath, like in this DIY Ribbon Wreath.
Add vinyl labels to Wood Planter Boxes. Just be sure to add a protective top coat (like Polycrylic) so the vinyl sticks.
Decorate a DIY Christmas Tree Stand with Nordic Stars.
MAKE YOUR OWN DIY WALL DECOR LIKE THESE FARMHOUSE SIGNS
Use vinyl to make your own Farmhouse Signs for inexpensive DIY wall decor. Beginner Tip: Seal your painted or stained signs with a top coat so the vinyl doesn’t bubble or peel.
Like this Double Sided Hanging Sign.
Or this Self Service Laundry Sign from my Laundry Room Makeover. I didn’t make a tutorial for this sign, but the file is available in my free library.
Would you believe this small DIY Patriotic Sign is made from paint sticks?
CREATE CUSTOM STENCILS FOR YOUR OWN SIGNS OR HOME DECOR
Have you ever used your Silhouette Cameo to create your own stencils? I’ve used both vinyl and page dividers to make them.
This DIY Coffee Bar Sign was created using a vinyl resist method.
Or this DIY Halloween Trick or Treat Sign, also using a vinyl resist method.
Or this Rustic Valentine’s Day sign.
You can also make stencils from old page dividers. I used this method for these cute Burlap Bunny Frames.
