Simple Ideas For A Christmas Farmhouse Table Setting
There’s just something heartwarming about a Christmas farmhouse table. It makes me dream of a simpler time, when families gathered together for dinner every evening. Well worn furnishings and a house that is lived in, complete with rustic finishes. Mismatched treasures and handmade items handed down for generations. To me, farmhouse goes hand in hand with all the comforts of home, love, and family.
Farmhouse tables are especially comforting with years of history and memories.

FAMILY DISHWARE
There is something special about a set of dishes that are passed down from one generation to the next. I think of all the meals that were served up in another time and wonder about the conversations families had while they gathered. Farmhouse dishes are usually white with simple patterns and floral designs. One or two colors give them a timeless beautiful look.

TOUCHABLE FABRIC
A simple stripe, floral, or check pattern with a linen or cotton feel works as a napkin, place mat, or tablecloth. A soft comfortable seat cushion that is washable and easy to remove is a nice touch.

COMFORTABLE FURNITURE
A well worn wood table with a white, grey, or natural rustic finish is the anchor of any farmhouse dining space. Mismatched or painted chairs complete the look and provide a casual comfortable place to rest.

A BIT OF GREENERY
It’s always nice to have some fresh flowers, cut boxwood stems or rosemary sprigs at the table. They connect us back to nature and give us a sense of peace along with beautiful fragrance.

ADD AMBIANCE
Candles add warmth and a soft glow to any farmhouse table. You can include them as a centerpiece or place simple tea lights at each place setting. Glass mason jars, vases, and votive’s add an iridescent look when seen from different angles. Black wrought iron candle holders are another simple look that add to the vintage charm.
